Something often gets lost in Moses’s request to see God. Moses’s primary request is that God’s presence should always remain with him and the people. Moses even says, “If your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.” The request if for God to remain very near and be with them always.

When we pray and ask God for direction and insight is our primary motivation that God show us where to go or is it that God lead us to where God is? The later is the better.
