Don’t base your sexual ethics on Genesis 30; although the focus on producing a child in order to produce a legacy is interesting. What things do we do in hopes of creating a lasting legacy. Are these things consistent with our Christian ethics; or do we pretend that the ends justify the means. Ultimately none of us are in control of our legacy. We can destroy it pretty easily, but to leave a lasting legacy requires good fortune, God’s blessing, and hard work.
