Update on Blog

Hi all,

I’ve been a little slow on new posts during the Christmas season.  The blog will be revamped and is scheduled to open up again full time the first of January.  The changes will include:

  • A facelift of the blog layout with seasonal decor
  • The resumption of Chapter a day Bible posts on weekdays
  • A Koine Greek Word of the Day podcast on weekdays
  • The resumption of articles, poems, literature, prayers, and other stuff posted 3 days a week

We will of course be keeping the weekly meanderings, otherwise what would I do with all the random stuff I come across over the course of the week.  There will also be a section added regarding speaking opportunities if you need a guest speaker for a Sunday morning or a conference.

If you would like to see anything else on the blog please let me know.

Thanks,

Matt

Weekly Meanderings

Every week I doubt I’m going to have very much to post and then by the time I compile the emails I sent myself and the notes I saved in my Meanderings file I wind up having to delete a few…anyway, here’s some stuff I came across this week…

1. Penn Gillette’s view on evangelism
2. Thoughts on conversion
3. Does science help us understand the Bible?
4. In regard to the Obama-Warren dust up…both the extreme right and the extreme left need to get a grip on reality. Anyway, here’s my version of fair and balanced coverage:
Ben Witherington
Tony Jones
5. Woman Says Church Threatening To Make Sins Public
6. The best thing Chuck Colson has written in years
7. top 10 Emergent/Missional/Post-Evangelical blog posts of 2008
8. Favorite Books of 2008
9. Jesus Creed books of the year
10. Anne Rice on writing exclusively for God
11. Mangerology
12. When is it cost-effective to use money as toilet paper
13. 40 inspirational speeches in 2 minutes
14. ‘I’m not qualified to land plane,’ pilot tells passengers

Happy Holidays…er…Merry X-mas…uh…have a great weekend! (That was close I almost got the Christians mad at me!)
