The Lord gives instructions on how a Nazarite covenant with God is to be consecrated.  Aaron is also instructed on how to bless the people with the words, “The LORD bless you and keep you;  The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;  The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”

Finally the Lord gives instructions on how the Silver trumpets are to be made.  These trumpets will signal the people when to gather, and when to depart.  With those instructions the Israelites leave Sinai and start their journey to the promised land.  When the people are to leave a place the cloud which signifies the presence of the Lord moves out from over the Tabernacle and travels ahead of the people.

I do not remember what the whole deal was with the Nazarite vows.  Is suspect that this would be a really interesting passage to preach about the commitments we make to God, but I would have to do some decent study before I really understand that part. I found the special blessing the priests could give to the people to be very encouraging.  I think it might be useful to remember and pray over people experiencing difficult times in their lives. I may have to do that.

I find it interesting that God spends a great deal of time giving instructions (practically 2 books worth) BEFORE he is ready for them to move.  In my life I know that I have tried to push God to get moving before God was ready.  God spends time instructing and training us before God is ready to lead us toward our ultimate goal.  God also gives us time to prepare what we will need in order to succeed.
