Exodus 20:1-22:15

God gives the ten commandments to the people:

1. Do not worship any gods but me. 
2. Do not make idols. 
3. Do not misuse the name of the Lord.
4. Observe the Sabbath.
5. Honor your father and mother. 
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet.

Then God gave some more specific directions to Moses so that Moses could instruct the people.

I always found it interesting that the people were afraid to hear the more specific instructions directly from God.  They begged God to only speak to Moses and have Moses relay the instructions.
